Ordering private-label LPG cylinders: what do you need to prepare?
The steps to order private-label LPG cylinders: choose OEM, ODM or OBM, prepare your brand identity, approve samples, confirm quantities and schedule batch deliveries.

A cylinder in your own paint colour and logo lets customers recognise your cylinders instantly among dozens of other brands, and reduces cylinder losses when customers switch suppliers. Ordering private-label LPG cylinders is straightforward if you prepare in the right order. Below is what to do from the first idea to receiving your first batch.
Step 1: Choose the right cooperation model
OEM — you already have drawings, specifications and a brand identity; the factory produces exactly to that design.
ODM — choose from the factory’s existing cylinder designs and change only the paint colour, logo and printed information; the fastest option with the least design cost.
OBM — distribute products under the VietnhatGas brand through our franchise policy, with no need to build your own brand.
Most dealers doing private label for the first time choose ODM. A detailed comparison of the three models is on our OEM · ODM · OBM cooperation models page.
Step 2: Prepare your brand identity
What to send to the factory:
Body paint colour: a specific colour code (from a paint chart or your brand colour code) rather than a description like “dark blue” or “bright orange”.
Logo: the original vector file (AI, PDF, SVG) for sharp printing; photos or small images will pixelate when enlarged on the cylinder body.
Embossed information: brand name, phone number or wording to emboss on the handle or collar — in addition to mandatory data such as serial number, tare weight and date of manufacture.
Print position: logo on one or both sides of the body, and the desired size.
Choose a colour and logo clearly different from the major brands in your area to avoid confusion and identity disputes.
Step 3: Choose capacity and valve type
Decide the cylinder range based on your main customers: 12kg LPG cylinders for households and eateries; 45kg LPG cylinders for industrial kitchens and restaurants; or other capacities on request. Choose the valve type (POL or QCC) according to the regulators common in the market where you sell. If you are unsure about the ratio between the two sizes, read 12kg vs 45kg LPG cylinders: which should a dealer stock?
Step 4: Approve samples
Before mass production, the factory makes a paint colour sample and a logo print sample for your approval. This is the most important step: colours on screen always differ from real powder coating, so look at the actual sample (or a photo taken in natural light) and confirm in writing. Once approved, the sample is kept as the reference for later batches so colours stay consistent between orders.
Step 5: Confirm quantities, records and delivery schedule
The minimum quantity for a private-label order and the production time are stated in the quotation, depending on capacity and the level of customisation. When confirming the order, also agree on:
The quantity of each cylinder size and the valve type.
The records supplied with each batch (inspection report, quality inspection sheet, serial list) — see LPG cylinder inspection records.
The batch delivery schedule and delivery address under our delivery policy.
With ODM you use an existing cylinder design, so the main costs are colour matching and making the print and embossing dies for your identity. Specific costs are itemised in the quotation.
Can I change the colour or logo in later batches?
Yes, but each change requires a new sample approval. Keeping a stable identity helps regular customers recognise your cylinders.
Can a small dealer do private label?
Yes. If your initial quantity is small, you can start with one main capacity and expand later, or consider distributing under the OBM model.
