45 kg LPG Cylinder
Details
The 45 kg LPG cylinder (code GAS-002) is used in industrial kitchens, restaurants, canteens and factories, where LPG is consumed continuously and cylinder changes need to be kept to a minimum. VietnhatGas manufactures 45 kg cylinders in batches, painted and embossed with the brand of the dealer, gas filling station or gas company.

Differences from the 12 kg cylinder
The 45 kg cylinder has the same working pressure and design pressure as the 12 kg LPG cylinder, but it is nearly twice as tall, has a steel wall from 3.0mm thick and weighs 82 – 87kg when full. That is why welding, pressure testing and valve protection are controlled more closely; the cylinder has a valve guard ring to reduce impact during collisions, stacking or handling.
7 control steps in production
1. Incoming steel inspection
Hot-rolled steel plate is checked for yield strength, tensile strength, elongation and carbon content before entering production.
2. Blank cutting and press forming
Blanks are cut on a CNC plasma cutter for accurate dimensions and minimal burrs. The cylindrical body, top head and bottom head are cold-pressed with 300 – 500 ton hydraulic dies. After pressing, the cylinder is checked for uniform thickness, axial straightness within ±1.0mm/m and the absence of surface cracks.
3. Automatic welding
The body – bottom, body – top and threaded neck joints are welded by automatic submerged arc welding (SAW). 100% of welds undergo non-destructive testing by ultrasonic testing (UT) or dye penetrant testing (PT) to detect porosity and cracks; the cylinder then undergoes post-weld stress relief. The neck thread is machined on a CNC lathe for valve fitting.
4. Pressure test and leak test
The cylinder is pressurized with water to 34 bar in an enclosed test chamber to check for deformation, leakage and structural integrity. After draining and drying, the cylinder is pressurized with air and coated with a foaming solution to detect leaks at the welds, neck and thread. Test results are recorded and linked to each cylinder's code.
5. Surface cleaning and powder coating
After surface cleaning, the cylinder is powder-coated with UV-resistant epoxy-polyester, at a thickness from 100 microns, in a RAL color or the partner's brand color code.
6. Embossing and information printing
The serial number, inspection date and identification code are stamped on the cylinder neck. The logo can be debossed, screen-printed or laser-engraved; a traceability QR code is added on request.
7. Valve fitting, final inspection and packing
Brass valves (POL or QCC) are fitted with tightening torque controlled by an electronic torque meter. Final inspection covers dimensions, weight, upright stability, wall thickness and tightness after coating. Cylinders are wrapped in scratch-resistant PE film, palletized and labeled with identification, operating and safety instructions.
Inspection records by batch
Each batch of 45 kg cylinders is delivered with an inspection certificate and a factory inspection sheet. Because pressure test and leak test results are stored by cylinder code, partners can look up the production batch, test date and test results of each cylinder whenever they need to cross-check or when it is due for periodic re-inspection.
Private-label manufacturing
VietnhatGas manufactures 45 kg cylinders on an OEM, ODM or OBM basis, with batch delivery, for gas filling stations and gas dealers serving industrial kitchens, food processing plants and drying lines. Paint color, logo, embossing content, valve type and packing are agreed before production; minimum order quantity per quotation. See more at LPG cylinder manufacturing services.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a full 45 kg cylinder weigh, and how should it be transported?
The gross weight is approx. 82 – 87kg. Use a dedicated hand truck or lifting equipment, keep the cylinder upright and secured during transport, and always fit the valve protection cap; never roll the cylinder along the ground.
Can it share the same paint color as our 12 kg cylinder fleet?
Yes. Using one color code for all capacities helps customers recognize your brand; capacities are distinguished by the embossed information on the body.
What should be considered when ordering 45 kg cylinders for a market that uses QCC valves?
Tell us the target market and your end customers' connection equipment so VietnhatGas can select the right valve type and neck thread from the manufacturing stage.
Send us the quantity, paint color, embossing content and valve type via our quotation form, or contact our sales Zalo 0903 411 866.
